The Friends of the Minack Chronicles Society (FOMCS) is dedicated to not letting the series of books be forgotten, and to reach new readers who have not yet come across the books before.  Although all out of print, they are available "pre-loved" from many online websites and book shops.  We invite you, readers new to the Chronicles and those of you who have been friends for years to share insights,  partake in enriching discussions, and enjoy the beauty of the written word of Derek Tangye.

Perhaps if you are new to the books you will one day find your Way to Minack, by visiting Oliverland via the Southwest Cost path from Lamorna.  Oliverland is no longer accessible by walking down the winding lane, and it is not possible to walk past Derek and Jeannies cottage, Dorminack, the cottage can be seen from Oliverland.

At the penultimate last meeting of the old Society FOMS, I had taken some books to the Society which were kindly donated by Pauline Ruffles, the original founder and decided to join, having had a Great Uncle and Aunt and Parents too who had all read the books.  Imagine my disappointment when it was announced the Society was to cease, unless a new Committee could be formed.   

It was then I met Lis, our Editor and now Vice-Chair of FOMCS and we decided we could run it between the 2 of us, but on a smaller scale by being organised differently.  It didn't happen immediately but after our Facebook followers increased and having received many emails from old FOMS members who missed the Society and the annual get-togethers, I decided to set a re-formed Society up again.
